My New Logo and Artist Card

So for the last few days, we've had to create logos based on everything we've learned in the last few months in graphic design. Here is my process.
So these are my sketches when she announced the project. I really like text based logos but I also like robots and tacos, so I added that in to include.

When transfering my logos into illustrator, I first looked up some other text based logos and different fonts and typefaces.

These are my initial sketches

And what I widdled that down to. I really like 3 and 4, but 1 and 2 are more professional so I went with 1.
So, this is my logo.

And my artist card.

And that is my logo stuff

Kerning: The Art of Space

Click Here and test your knowledge of space!
Kerning is a fun tool to add to your designing belt and the word itself is nice to drop to seem more competent.

What's up with Google?

Google is both a company and verb. Thousands of college students get minimum grades through google, students every get help on answers, and the engine itself has been come so ingrained in our society that when searching for an answer to a ridiculous question...we just google it.

Google's logo, the 'g' is a metonym of Google. A simple blue, lower case g used to represent a company that created a search engine, owns YouTube, is a unit of measurement (A googol is the large number 10100; that is, the digit 1 followed by 100 zeroes10,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000), and is used world wide.
The simple logo for an amazing company.

Movie Posters

Movie posters are an integral part of the entertainment community. Found in movie theaters, on billboards, and online, movie posters are advertisements and attention grabbing forms of media.

SPOILERS AHEAD FOR 2001: SPACE ODYSSEY!
I redesigned a movie poster, 2001: Space Odyssey to include 3 of the important factors of the movie, or at least the most memorable parts of the movie.
I used black, white, and red as the primary colors (with a faded Earth in the back). Black for space and emptiness, white for the clinical nature of the 3rd part of the movie, HAL and the spacesuits, and red for the blood and raw nature of the story, and of course HAL's structure.

The 3 things I combined in the poster was the Star Child (the fetus), the Earth, and the red glow of the sun, HAL's glass, and of Jupiter. I really tried to show the 3 stages of the movie.

We compared our posters to Saul Bass, a designer that focuses in minimalism.

Minimalism uses the bare ideas from the movies or shows or theme it represents in order to tell a story.  I am not very good at minimalism, because empty space annoys me a bit, but I did try.

I love movie posters, especially when they tell a story.

The Top Ten Things About Me

The things I can't live without are mostly things based on giving me a personality.
I love food, I love to eat delicious foods, may favorite being macaroni and cheese with sliced baked spam. I love southern food, especially bbq, my favorite being from a small place in Moline.

I really like to draw while listening to music, my main inspiration being from books and TV. I love comic books, to draw things and to create is amazing. I love TV (see my media list to see how much) and music (also a lot) and these things make me, me.

A Trip around Kansas City

So, awhile ago... in January, I went on trip with my GD class around Kansas City. It was a cold Thursday, January 23 and we left school at 8. We stopped by Micky D's for some breakfast before heading to the Kemper Museum.

So we walked into the Kemper, and it was awesomely modern. Whatever that means. But my favorite thing in there was this picture.
It's pretty enough but take a closer look
The level of DETAIL

Why is that chick alone?

Seriously

GIRL!

THERE ARE SHARKS IN THE WATER!

And a storm is coming!

LOOK!

There are fairies and birds and water!
Is that a baby in the flower?

Another one!

That's a mouth!

Sorry... But I spent like 10 minutes just staring at this picture. It's amazing.

On to the next things

This is the coolest ceiling design ever

This is a painting...not a photo.
What!

The level of detail on this pie

FLOWERS!

Dead plants?

SHADING!

This has nothing to do with anything but the knife was missing and it bothered me.

This is a piece in their cafe like thing... Amazing.... It looks like a double headed monster

DRAGON!

3D

Megan, Nery and Jackee! :D

Then we traveled to KCAI to see their programs there. Here's the highlights.

It was pretty cool...but cold.

And then we went to lunch.

:P

One of my only non-blurry pictures

At the City Ice Arts place...

They had arrows in the bathroom?????
